Brief Description  The Dark Power (1985) is an American independent supernatural horror film written and directed by Phil Smoot. The movie is a low-budget, regional "cabin in the woods" style creature feature shot in North Carolina. It is widely remembered for marking the theatrical return of 1940s and '50s B-Western film legend Lash LaRue, who brings his signature real-life bullwhip skills into a horror setting.

Plot:
The story begins in the swampy township of Belews Creek, North Carolina, when an ancient Native American shaman passes away. His rural home is quickly rented out to a group of unsuspecting college students looking to share living costs. Unbeknownst to the coeds, the house was built directly over the desecrated burial grounds of four ancient, evil Toltec sorcerers. When the students accidentally remove the protective "superstitious" artifacts and charms left around the property to keep the spirits at bay, they inadvertently unleash a curse. The four rotting, zombie-like tribal shamans rise from the dead to terrorize the house and violently pick off the new roommates one by one. The students' only hope of survival arrives in the form of Ranger Girard (played by Lash LaRue), a steel-nerved local park ranger. Known around town for refusing to carry a firearm, Girard relies strictly on his expert, whip-cracking skills to stage a bizarre final showdown against the undead sorcerers.
