Brief Description
Fright Night (1985) is an American supernatural horror-comedy film about a teenager who discovers his new neighbor is a vampire and enlists a washed-up television horror host to help stop him. Fright Night grossed over $24 million, earned positive reviews, and has since become a beloved cult classic that spawned a 1988 sequel and a 2011 remake.
Plot:
Teenager Charley Brewster is a massive fan of horror movies. When a reclusive and charming man named Jerry Dandrige moves into the house next door, Charley peers through a telescope and witnesses Jerry attacking a young woman. Charley soon realizes Jerry is a vampire. No one believes his wild stories—not his mother or his friends. Desperate and out of options, Charley turns to Peter Vincent, a local television show host and former film actor who plays a fearless vampire hunter on screen. Skeptical and only doing it for a fee, Vincent eventually helps Charley confront the terrifying reality next door. The core of the movie relies on the reluctant partnership between a terrified teenager and a broken-down actor who doesn't actually believe in real monsters until it's too late.
