Brief Description
Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter (1984) is an American slasher film directed by Joseph Zito, serving as the fourth installment in the iconic Friday the 13th franchise. Despite its definitive title, which reflected the producer's initial desire to kill off the series due to a perceived decline in the slasher genre, the film's massive box office success guaranteed that the franchise would continue.
Plot:
Picking up immediately after the events of Friday the 13th Part III, the hockey-masked killer Jason Voorhees (Ted White) is presumed dead and taken to the Wessex County hospital morgue. He unexpectedly revives, brutally murders a doctor and a nurse, and escapes to make his way back to Camp Crystal Lake. Once back in his old hunting grounds, Jason targets a group of carefree teenagers who have rented a lakeside cabin for a weekend of partying, alongside a neighboring family—the Jarvises. As Jason systematically butchers the teens and locals, he ultimately meets his match in 11-year-old Tommy Jarvis (Corey Feldman), a horror-obsessed kid with a talent for making special effects masks. In a desperate climax, Tommy shaves his head to trick Jason into thinking he is looking at a younger version of himself, creating a distraction that allows his sister Trish to unmask the killer before Tommy fatally hacks Jason's skull with a machete.
