Brief Description  Cujo (1983) is an American psychological horror thriller film directed by Lewis Teague and based on Stephen King's 1981 novel of the same name. Renowned for its realistic, non-supernatural premise, the film turns an ordinary domestic setting into a claustrophobic nightmare. Five trained Saint Bernards were used to portray different behaviors. A Rottweiler was mixed in for certain aggressive stunt sequences. A mechanical dog head and an actor in a dog costume were deployed for up-close attacks against the car.

Plot:
The story follows Cujo, a friendly and massive Saint Bernard belonging to a rural mechanic. While chasing a rabbit, Cujo is bitten on the nose by a rabid bat and slowly succumbs to the virus, turning into a vicious, bloodthirsty killer. Meanwhile, housewife Donna Trenton (played by Dee Wallace) is dealing with a strained marriage following an extramarital affair. She and her 5-year-old son, Tad (Danny Pintauro), drive out to the isolated mechanic's farm to fix their failing Ford Pinto. Their car breaks down completely just as they arrive, trapping them inside the dead vehicle during a brutal heatwave while a rabid, savage Cujo prowls outside. The core of the film is a high-tension, claustrophobic showdown as Donna desperately fights to protect her son from the heat, dehydration, and the relentless beast outside.
