Brief Description
Christine (1983 film) is a 1983 supernatural horror movie directed by John Carpenter about a possessed, vengeful 1958 Plymouth Fury that takes over its teenage owner.
Plot:
The movie follows a bullied high school nerd, Arnie Cunningham, who becomes dangerously obsessed with a dilapidated 1958 Plymouth Fury named Christine. As he restores the car, Arnie transforms from an awkward outcast into an arrogant, aggressive teenager. Unbeknownst to him, Christine possesses a malevolent, sentient intelligence and the ability to completely regenerate herself. The jealous, supernatural vehicle soon goes on a murderous rampage, targeted at anyone who threatens her or her relationship with Arnie. When Arnie purchases the rusted car, he pours his life into its restoration. Simultaneously, Christine exerts a dark influence over him.
He trades his meek personality for a cocky demeanor and secures a relationship with the school's most beautiful girl, Leigh Cabot. After a gang of bullies severely vandalizes the car, Christine uses her supernatural self-healing abilities to repair herself. She independently seeks out and brutally kills each of the bullies, along with the garage owner, Will Darnell. Realizing that the car has completely corrupted Arnie and will stop at nothing to eliminate any perceived rivals, Arnie's best friend Dennis and girlfriend Leigh stage a desperate showdown to destroy Christine with a bulldozer.
