Brief Description
Bog (frequently cited as a 1983 release, though originally filmed in 1978 and released in 1979) is an American low-budget independent horror B-movie. Directed by Don Keeslar, written by Carl Kitt, and shot on location in Wisconsin, the movie heavily emulates classic 1950s rubber-suit creature features.
Plot:
The story begins at Bog Lake when a local poacher uses dynamite fishing, accidentally awakening a prehistoric, green, bug-eyed gill monster from millions of years of glacial hibernation. The creature requires the blood of human females to survive and gestate its egg sacks. As local women are found dead and drained of blood, a local pathologist, Dr. Ginny Glenn, pairs up with the town sheriff and local doctors to track down the beast. They discover a bizarre twist: the creature injects victims with its own blood to genetically alter them into willing, compatible mates. The monster is eventually killed after being rammed with a truck and set on fire, though the final frame reveals that its eggs have survived.
