Brief Description
Xtro (1982) is a notorious British cult sci-fi body horror film directed by Harry Bromley Davenport. Frequently described as a dark, twisted, and deeply unsettling inversion of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, the film is famous for its surreal imagery, grotesque practical special effects, and a grim atmosphere of dread.
Plot:
The story follows Sam Phillips, a family man who is suddenly abducted by aliens in front of his young son, Tony, outside their country home. Three years later, an alien organism returns to Earth and violently impregnates a local woman. In one of the movie's most infamous and graphic sequences, she rapidly gives birth to a fully-grown, adult Sam. Cleaned up and appearing human, Sam tracks down his wife, Rachel, and his son in London. Rachel has since moved on and is living with a new boyfriend, making Sam's sudden return incredibly tense. It quickly becomes apparent that Sam is no longer human. He possesses a sinister, alien agenda and begins passing bizarre paranormal abilities to Tony. Soon, the apartment building is plagued by horrific anomalies, including sentient, murderous toys—such as a life-sized toy soldier and a creepy clown—and human victims being used as living incubators for alien eggs.
