Brief Description
Halloween III: Season of the Witch is a 1982 American science fiction horror film written and directed by Tommy Lee Wallace. It is famously known as the only entry in the Halloween franchise that completely excludes Michael Myers. Instead of a traditional slasher film, it explores a dark, corporate-industrial witchcraft plot blended with 1980s sci-fi tropes.
Plot:
The story follows Dr. Daniel Challis (Tom Atkins) and Ellie Grimbridge (Stacey Nelkin) as they investigate the mysterious murder of Ellie's father, a novelty store owner. Their search leads them to Santa Mira, a small California company town completely controlled by Conal Cochran (Dan O'Herlihy), the eccentric founder of Silver Shamrock Novelties. Challis and Ellie uncover a horrific plot: Cochran has manufactured millions of wildly popular Halloween masks—a witch, a jack-o'-lantern, and a skull. Each mask contains a microchip embedded with a fragment of a stolen Stonehenge boulder. When a specific Silver Shamrock TV commercial airs on Halloween night, the chips will activate, triggering a curse that kills the children wearing them and unleashing swarms of snakes and insects.
