Brief Description  The Pit (1981) is a Canadian psychological horror film directed by Lew Lehman. It tells the bizarre story of Jamie Benjamin, a lonely, bullied, and deeply disturbed 12-year-old outcast who discovers a deep hole in the forest filled with carnivorous, prehistoric creatures. The movie received negative reviews upon release, but it has since gained a massive cult following among horror fans who enjoy it as a bizarre, inappropriate, and unintentionally hilarious hidden treasure.

Plot:
Jamie has a high IQ but lacks real-world friends. He spends his time talking to his teddy bear, Teddy, who seems to communicate back and manipulate him into doing terrible things. When Jamie's parents go on a trip, they hire a babysitter named Sandy. Jamie soon discovers a hidden pit in the woods containing four furry, man-eating monsters he calls "Trogs" (or Tra-la-logs). Initially, Jamie steals money to buy raw meat to feed them. However, coaxed by his sinister teddy bear, Jamie realizes the pit is the perfect place to get revenge on the townspeople, bullies, and neighbors who torment him by tricking them into falling in to be eaten alive. Although it was a Canadian production, it was filmed entirely on location in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.
