Brief Description
Predator 2 (1990) is an American science fiction horror action film directed by Stephen Hopkins and written by brothers Jim and John Thomas. Serving as the second installment in the franchise and a standalone sequel to the 1987 hit Predator, the film famously shifts the creature's hunting grounds from a remote, tropical jungle to a sweltering, dystopian Los Angeles.
Plot:
Set in the then-future of 1997, Los Angeles is locked in the grip of a record-breaking heatwave and a violent turf war between heavily armed Colombian and Jamaican drug cartels. When cartel members are found systematically and brutally slaughtered—often hung upside down and skinned—gritty LAPD Lieutenant Mike Harrigan begins to investigate. Harrigan soon realizes they are not dealing with ordinary gang violence, but rather an invisible, technologically advanced extraterrestrial hunter who prizes humans as trophies. As Harrigan tracks the creature through the urban jungle, his investigation is disrupted by a secretive federal task force led by Special Agent Peter Keyes, who aims to capture the alien alive for scientific study.
