Brief Description
Graveyard Shift (1990) is a 1990 American horror film directed by Ralph S. Singleton and based on Stephen King's 1970 short story of the same name. Distributed by Paramount Pictures, the movie follows a group of blue-collar workers who uncover a terrifying, giant mutant rat-bat creature living in the subterranean tunnels beneath a rundown textile mill.
Plot:
The story takes place in the fictional small town of Gates Falls, Maine, inside the decrepit Bachman Textile Mill. The Graveyard Shift: After the mill reopens, mysterious and deadly accidents start claiming the lives of night-shift employees working between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. A college-educated drifter named John Hall (David Andrews) takes a job at the mill and is assigned by the cruel, sadistic foreman Warwick (Stephen Macht) to help a cleanup crew clear out the rotting, heavily rat-infested sub-basement over a holiday weekend. When the local exterminator (Brad Dourif) fails to handle the massive rodent population, the crew descends deeper into a labyrinth of subterranean tunnels that connect to a nearby cemetery. They soon realize they are being hunted by a monstrous, man-eating rat-bat hybrid.
