Brief Description
Daughter of Darkness is a 1990 American made-for-television supernatural horror film directed by cult filmmaker Stuart Gordon. The plot follows a young American woman named Katherine Thatcher who travels to Romania following her mother's death to track down her biological father, only to find herself trapped in a terrifying underworld populated by vampires.
Plot:
Guided by prophetic nightmares, Katherine arrives in a post-communist, totalitarian Romania. With the help of a local taxi driver and a U.S. embassy worker, she tracks down her father, Anton, who works as a glassblower. To her horror, she learns that Anton is actually a centuries-old vampire. Katherine's presence alerts a local, secret coven of underground vampires known as the Cyprians. Because the local vampires are weak and vulnerable to daylight, their sinister leader plots to capture Katherine to breed a new generation of half-human, daytime-capable vampire offspring.
