Brief Description  Arachnophobia is a 1990 American natural horror comedy film that marks the directorial debut of Frank Marshall, produced by Kathleen Kennedy and Steven Spielberg. Described as a "thrill-omedy," the movie perfectly balances tension with humor, tapping into the universal fear of spiders while keeping the story lighthearted and entertaining.

Plot:
The story begins in the Venezuelan rainforest, where an entomologist discovers a highly aggressive, deeply venomous new species of spider. One of these deadly spiders hitches a ride inside the coffin of a deceased nature photographer transported to the small, peaceful town of Canaima, California. Once in California, the exotic creature escapes into a barn and mates with a local domestic house spider. This produces a massive, highly aggressive, and lethal new hybrid breed. As the townspeople begin dying mysteriously from sudden spider bites, the local community faces a severe ecological crisis. The primary defense falls on Dr. Ross Jennings, the town's new physician who suffers from a paralyzing fear of spiders. To save the community, Dr. Jennings must overcome his severe phobia. He teams up with an eccentric local exterminator, Delbert McClintock, and a team of experts to track down the nest and kill the queen before the infestation spreads nationwide.
