Brief Description
The Toxic Avenger Part II is a 1989 American superhero splatter-comedy film directed by Lloyd Kaufman and Michael Herz, and released by Troma Entertainment. As the second installment in the cult-classic franchise, the movie follows New Jersey's mutated, hideously deformed hero, Melvin Junko (The Toxic Avenger, played by both John Altamura and Ron Fazio), as he is tricked into traveling to Tokyo, Japan.
Plot:
After successfully cleaning up his hometown of Tromaville, NJ, Toxie is lured away by the sinister conglomerate Apocalypse Inc. The evil chemical corporation wants to turn Tromaville into a massive toxic waste dump, but they cannot succeed while Toxie and his trusty mop stand in their way. To get rid of him, the company bombs the Tromaville Center for the Blind (where Toxie's girlfriend Claire works) and manipulates Toxie's psychiatrist. They convince the hero that his long-lost, estranged father is alive and living in Tokyo.
Toxie packs up and windsurfs across the Pacific Ocean to Japan. Once in Tokyo, he teams up with a local girl named Masami and undergoes sumo training. However, he soon discovers that the man claiming to be his father is actually Big Mac Bunko, a ruthless Yakuza crime boss who is working with Apocalypse Inc. to distribute dangerous drugs. Discovering the evil plot triggers Toxie's "tromatons" (the mutated cells that compel him to fight evil). He defeats the Yakuza enforcers and rushes back to New Jersey just in time to stop Apocalypse Inc. from decimating Tromaville.
