Brief Description  The Cellar (1989) is an American cult B-movie horror film directed by Kevin Tenney and loosely based on David Henry Keller's 1940 short story, "The Thing in the Cellar". The story blends creature-feature tropes with folk horror elements of the American Southwest.

Plot:
The narrative centers on the Cashen family—Mance, his new wife Emily, their baby, and Mance's young son Willy—who relocate from the city to a remote, dusty farmhouse in Texas so Mance can restart an abandoned oil well. While exploring the property, Willy unknowingly pulls a sacred Comanche spear out of the ground, accidentally releasing the Kegwai—a ferocious, ancient demonic spirit. Originally conjured by a Comanche chief centuries ago to destroy invading white men, the creature has mutated into an uncontrollable, bloodthirsty monster that now dwells directly beneath the house.

Willy quickly senses the malevolent entity in the cellar and attempts to warn his family. However, his abusive and short-tempered father refuses to believe him, dismissing the warnings as childish lies. As local townspeople and a Native American shaman mysteriously disappear or end up dead, Willy takes matters into his own hands. Arming himself with bear traps, a makeshift flamethrower, electrical cables, and dynamite, the resourceful young boy wages a solo war against the monster in the dark maze under his home to save his family.
