Brief Description
Monster High (1989) is an R-rated, American live-action science fiction horror comedy film directed by Rudy Poe (sometimes credited as Rudiger Poe) and produced by Lightyear Entertainment. Completely unrelated to Mattel's famous fashion doll franchise, this B-movie features an absurd, campy plot blending teenage antics, alien invasions, and basketball.
Plot:
The story kicks off in outer space when two chaotic bumbling aliens, Dume and Glume (or Doom and Gloom), steal a powerful, explosive doomsday device and flee to Earth. They end up crash-landing near Montgomery Sterling High School. The "doomsday device" is actually a living embodiment of destruction named Mr. Armageddon. Upon being unleashed, Mr. Armageddon begins terrorizing the campus, mutating students (such as turning a computer nerd's head into a literal monitor), and picking off teenagers. To save their lives and prevent the literal destruction of the world, a ragtag group of high schoolers—led by a typical loser named Norm Median and a popular cheerleader named Candace Kaine—must band together. The fate of the universe is ultimately decided by challenging the demon and his monsters to a bizarre, high-stakes basketball game.
