Brief Description  C.H.U.D. II: Bud the C.H.U.D. is a 1989 American zombie horror-comedy film directed by David Irving and written by Ed Naha (under the pseudonym M. Kane Jeeves). Serving as a campy, loose sequel to the darker 1984 sci-fi horror movie C.H.U.D., the film trades original sewer-dwelling creature suspense for tongue-in-cheek comedy and slapstick zombie antics.

Plot:
The story follows a secret military experiment codenamed "The C.H.U.D. Project," which uses enzymes from the original subterranean creatures to develop hyper-effective, indestructible super-soldiers. When the government abruptly shuts down the operation, the final remaining test specimen—a deceased man named Bud Oliver (Gerrit Graham)—is hidden away at a Centers for Disease Control (CDC) research lab in a quiet suburban town. A pair of blundering high school teenagers, Steve (Brian Robbins) and Kevin (Bill Calvert), break into the facility to steal a corpse for a school prank.

They accidentally reanimate Bud, who promptly escapes. Now loose in suburbia, "Bud the C.H.U.D." begins biting the unsuspecting townspeople, spreading the contagion and building a cannibalistic army of flesh-eating zombies. It is up to the teenagers and Kevin's girlfriend, Katie (Tricia Leigh Fisher), to stop the horde before the infestation completely takes over their neighborhood. Unlike its atmospheric predecessor, director David Irving explicitly balanced horror elements with low-brow comedy during editing, creating a distinct cult-classic 1980s aesthetic.
