Brief Description  Basket Case (1981) is a low-budget American horror-comedy cult film written and directed by Frank Henenlotter in his feature directorial debut. Shot on a shoestring budget of roughly $35,000 in the seedy, pre-gentrified areas of Times Square, New York City, the movie is famous for its grimy grindhouse aesthetic, campy humor, and grotesque stop-motion special effects.

Plot:
The story follows Duane Bradley (played by Kevin Van Hentenryck), an ordinary-looking young man who checks into a sleazy Manhattan hotel. He carries no luggage except for a large, mysterious wicker picnic basket. Inside the basket lives Belial, Duane's severely deformed, blob-like, formerly conjoined twin brother. The two share a telepathic link. Driven by bitterness and a desire for justice, the brothers have come to the city to hunt down and brutally murder the doctors who performed the non-consensual childhood surgery that separated them against their will. Complexity arises when Duane falls for Sharon, a receptionist at one of the target doctors' offices, triggering intense jealousy, rage, and a tragic downward spiral from the monster in the basket.
