Brief Description  Return of the Living Dead Part II is a 1988 American comedy horror film written and directed by Ken Wiederhorn. It is the first of four sequels to The Return of the Living Dead. It was released by Lorimar Motion Pictures on January 15, 1988, and was a minor box office success, making over $9 million at the box office in the United States against its $6.2 million budget.

Plot:
Two metal barrels filled with experimental Trioxin gas fall from a U.S. military truck into a river and float to a small-town cemetery in Westvale. Local kids and bumbling grave robbers open one of the drums, releasing a green vapor that seeps into the ground via acid rain and reanimates the dead. Young Jesse Wilson, his older sister Lucy, cable repairman Tom, and grave robbers Ed and Joey team up to escape the flesh-eating, brain-craving hordes. The survivors trap the remaining zombies in a local power plant and use an electrical surge to wipe out the undead plague. Actors James Karen and Thom Mathews returned from the 1985 original film, but played entirely different characters. Producers brought them back because the first movie was a massive hit in Japan, and Japanese financiers requested their return.
