Brief Description
Poltergeist III is a 1988 American supernatural horror film co-written and directed by Gary Sherman, and starring Tom Skerritt, Nancy Allen, Heather O'Rourke and Zelda Rubinstein with the latter two reprising their roles from the previous films. The third and final entry in the original Poltergeist film series, it follows young Carol Anne Freeling, who is terrorized by malicious spirits while staying in her aunt Pat and uncle Bruce's apartment at Chicago's John Hancock Center.
Plot:
Young Carol Anne Freeling (Heather O'Rourke) is sent by her parents to live with her Aunt Pat (Nancy Allen) and Uncle Bruce (Tom Skerritt) in a luxury Chicago high-rise (the John Hancock Center). She attends a school for gifted children with emotional challenges, overseen by a skeptical psychiatrist, Dr. Seaton (Richard Fire), who believes her claims of past hauntings are delusions. However, the malevolent Reverend Henry Kane tracks her to the skyscraper, using the building's mirrors and reflective glass surfaces as portals to the spirit world. As the supernatural entities infiltrate reflections and trap the family, the psychic Tangina Barrons (Zelda Rubinstein) arrives to help them fight the demonic forces.
