Brief Description
Teen Wolf Too (1987) is a fantasy-comedy film directed by Christopher Leitch and starring Jason Bateman in his feature film debut. Serving as a standalone sequel to the 1985 hit Teen Wolf starring Michael J. Fox, the movie shifts the setting from high school basketball to college boxing. Critics frequently panned it as a lazy, uninspired rehash of the original movie that swapped out a beloved sport and lacked Michael J. Fox's star power.
Plot:
Bateman plays Todd Howard, the awkward, science-minded cousin of Scott Howard (the original film's protagonist). Todd attends Hamilton University on a full athletic scholarship for boxing, even though he has no prior boxing experience and is far more interested in his studies. Under pressure from the school's aggressive coach Bobby Finstock (played by Paul Sand) and threatened with expulsion by the dean, Todd's dormant family werewolf curse begins to manifest. Becoming a werewolf grants Todd superhuman agility, instant campus celebrity status, and dominant victories in the boxing ring. However, his sudden arrogance alienates his real friends and his grounded love interest, Nicki. Todd eventually has to face the ultimate championship match relying on his own human abilities rather than his lupine powers.
