Brief Description  Redneck Zombies (1987) is an ultra-low-budget independent horror-comedy film directed by Pericles Lewnes and famously distributed by Troma Entertainment. Known as one of the earliest feature-length films shot entirely on videotape (Shot-on-Video / SOV) for the direct-to-home-video market, it has achieved cult status for its crude humor, campy aesthetic, and surprisingly ambitious practical gore effects.

Plot:
An army transport vehicle accidentally loses a poorly secured barrel of toxic/radioactive nuclear waste deep in the rural backcountry (filmed largely in Maryland and Delaware). A local, eccentric family of illiterate backwoods moonshiners finds the barrel and, ignoring the hazard warnings, uses the radioactive contents to cook up a fresh batch of sour mash. Anyone who drinks the contaminated moonshine immediately transforms into a tobacco-chewing, flesh-eating, cannibalistic mutant zombie. Meanwhile, a group of unsuspecting urban city-slicker campers and hikers get lost in the woods, stumbling right into a blood-soaked nightmare as the zombie infection rapidly spreads through the local population.
