Brief Description
Jaws: The Revenge (also known as Jaws 4) is a 1987 American horror thriller film directed by Joseph Sargent. It serves as the fourth and final installment in the iconic Jaws franchise. The story functions as a direct sequel to Jaws 2, entirely ignoring the events of Jaws 3-D. Jaws: The Revenge is widely regarded as one of the worst movies ever made. Critics and audiences heavily panned the film for its highly implausible premise—mainly that a shark could seek a personal vendetta and follow a family across the ocean.
Plot:
The film follows Ellen Brody (Lorraine Gary), the widowed wife of Chief Martin Brody. Following the tragic death of her youngest son, Sean, who is killed by a great white shark on Amity Island during Christmas, Ellen becomes convinced that a specific shark is personally targeting her family for vengeance. Grief-stricken, she travels to the Bahamas to visit her eldest son, Michael (Lance Guest), a marine biologist. There, she tries to rebuild her life and starts a budding romance with a carefree airplane pilot named Hoagie (Michael Caine). However, the nightmare returns when the same great white shark travels 1,200 miles to the warm waters of the Bahamas to hunt the remaining members of the Brody family, leading to a final, deadly showdown at sea.
