Brief Description  I Was a Teenage Zombie (1987) is an independent American comedy-horror film directed by John Elias Michalakis. The low-budget cult film is noted for its campy, amateur parody of high school romance combined with gory practical effects and an alternative 1980s soundtrack. The film was shot on location in and around New York City, especially Brooklyn, Fort Lee, Englewood, Tenafly, Riverside Park, and Rockland County. Some of the scenes near the beginning of the film were shot at Brooklyn College in Flatbush, Brooklyn.

Plot:
A group of six high school friends looking to buy marijuana get into an altercation with their erratic drug dealer, "Mussolini". They accidentally kill him and dump his body into a river contaminated with nuclear/toxic waste. The toxic slime resurrects the drug dealer as a hideous, bloodthirsty zombie who begins hunting down and killing the teenagers one by one. After one of their own friends, Dan, is killed by the monster, the surviving teens realize they are completely outmatched. To fight back, they purposely dump Dan's corpse into the same toxic waters. Dan returns as a sentient, "good" zombie, setting up a final undead showdown between the good teenage zombie and the evil drug-pusher zombie.
