Brief Description  House II: The Second Story (1987) is an American comedy horror film written and directed by Ethan Wiley. It serves as a standalone sequel to the 1986 horror hit House. While the two films share no connecting plots or characters, both center around large, sprawling mansions with supernatural secrets. However, House II leans significantly further into a lighthearted, eccentric, and campy fantasy-adventure tone compared to the original.

Plot:
The story follows Jesse McLaughlin (played by Arye Gross), an aspiring artist who inherits his family's massive, historic stone mansion—the very same house where his biological parents were mysteriously murdered when he was a baby. Jesse moves into the house with his girlfriend Kate (Lar Park Lincoln), and they are soon joined by his eccentric friend Charlie (Jonathan Stark) and Charlie's pop-singer girlfriend Lana (Amy Yasbeck). While looking through old family artifacts, Jesse learns about his great-great-grandfather (also named Jesse), who was an Old West outlaw.

Legend says the senior Jesse uncovered a mystical crystal skull from an Aztec temple that grants eternal life to whoever holds it. Hoping to find the skull, Jesse and Charlie dig up his ancestor's grave. To their shock, they discover "Gramps" (Royal Dano) is completely alive and well—albeit looking like a 170-year-old mummified cowboy—thanks to the power of the skull. They bring Gramps and the crystal skull back to the house, where Gramps quickly adapts to modern life, loves drinking beer, and becomes part of the friend group.
