Brief Description  Evil Spawn (1987) is a low-budget, straight-to-video sci-fi horror B-movie directed by Kenneth J. Hall, Ted Newsom, and cult filmmaker Fred Olen Ray. Functioning as a loose, campy reimagining of Roger Corman's The Wasp Woman (1959), the film serves as a sleazy, gore-filled commentary on ageism and vanity in Hollywood.

Plot:
The story begins when a space probe brings alien microbes back to Earth from Venus. A mad scientist, Dr. Emil Zeitman (played by horror icon John Carradine), begins using the bacteria to create an experimental anti-aging serum. However, he is attacked and killed before his work can be completed. His assistant, Evelyn, steals the formula and approaches Lynn Roman (Bobbie Bresee), a faded, aging Hollywood actress desperate to land a movie role that directors are refusing to give her because of her age. Eager for a comeback, Lynn injects herself with the untested serum. While the drug successfully restores her youth, it comes with a horrific side effect: it drives her mad and causes her to periodically transform into a giant, bloodthirsty, bug-eyed insect monster. Naturally, she begins violently picking off her critics and Hollywood detractors one by one.
