Brief Description
Poltergeist II: The Other Side (1986) is an American supernatural horror film directed by Brian Gibson. As the direct sequel to the 1982 blockbuster hit Poltergeist, it follows the Freeling family as they attempt to rebuild their lives, only to be stalked once again by a terrifying, malevolent entity determined to claim their young daughter.
Plot:
Taking place one year after the horrific destruction of their previous home, the Freeling family—Steven, Diane, Robbie, and Carol Anne—have relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, to live with Diane's clairvoyant mother, Gramma Jess. Hoping to escape their past trauma, they refuse to keep a television in the house. However, their peace is short-lived. An archaeological dig back at their former neighborhood uncovers an underground cave filled with the remains of a 19th-century apocalyptic cult. This unleashes "The Beast," who manifests in the ghostly form of Reverend Henry Kane—the cult's insane leader. Kane tracks the Freelings down, using psychological terror and supernatural parlor tricks to try and abduct the young, clairvoyant Carol Anne. To survive, the family must lean on their own latent psychic strengths, their eccentric psychic friend Tangina Barrons, and a Native American shaman named Taylor.
