Brief Description  Maximum Overdrive (1986) is a campy, action-packed sci-fi horror film written and directed by legendary novelist Stephen King, marking his first and only directorial effort. Loosely based on King's short story "Trucks" from his Night Shift collection, the movie is famous for its over-the-top dark humor, heavy action, and a hard-rocking soundtrack composed entirely by the band AC/DC.

Plot:
The story kicks off when Earth passes through the tail of a mysterious rogue comet named Rhea-M. The resulting radiation storm causes inanimate machines all over the globe—including vending machines, lawnmowers, and massive semi-trucks—to suddenly come alive with homicidal intent toward their human creators. The heart of the movie takes place at the desolate Dixie Boy Truck Stop in North Carolina. A small group of survivors finds themselves held hostage and under siege by a fleet of murderous 18-wheelers, most notably a terrifying semi-truck sporting a giant Green Goblin mask on its grille.
