Brief Description  The Pack (1977) is an American eco-horror thriller film about vacationers on a remote island who abandon their pet dogs, forcing the starving animals to turn feral and attack the human population. Capitalizing on the "nature-strikes-back" subgenre popularized by Jaws (1975), the movie is highly regarded among horror fans for avoiding typical genre clichés—such as a corrupt local official trying to hide the danger—focusing instead on tense, atmospheric, and practical survival suspense.

Plot:
The story is set on Seal Island, a small, isolated New England resort town that experiences a surge of tourists every summer. Throughout the vacation season, these summer visitors thoughtlessly adopt or bring along pet dogs for companionship. However, when autumn arrives and the tourists leave, they abandon their unwanted pets on the island. Left behind to face exposure, neglect, and starvation, the abandoned dogs band together into a cohesive, feral pack. Driven by extreme hunger, they rapidly transition from domesticated pets into vicious, bloodthirsty predators. The pack begins by hunting down local wildlife but eventually escalates to terrorizing and hunting the human inhabitants left on the island, maiming and murdering the locals for food. he central defense against the animals is led by Jerry (played by Joe Don Baker), a local marine biologist and ex-Marine who moved to the quiet island with his family to escape violence. He is forced to take up arms to protect his family and his small island home from the growing threat.
