Brief Description  Audrey Rose (1977) is an American psychological horror drama film directed by legendary filmmaker Robert Wise. Based on the 1975 novel of the same name by Frank De Felitta, the story explores the unsettling and tragic consequences of reincarnation. Written by Frank De Felitta, who based the original novel on a strange personal experience where his own young son suddenly began playing piano melodies perfectly without ever taking lessons.

Plot:
The narrative centers on Janice and Bill Templeton (played by Marsha Mason and John Beck), a happily married couple living in New York City with their adolescent daughter, Ivy (Susan Swift). Their peaceful lives are disrupted when a mysterious stranger, Elliot Hoover (Anthony Hopkins), begins stalking and observing Ivy. Hoover eventually approaches the couple with an unbelievable claim: he believes Ivy is the reincarnated soul of his deceased daughter, Audrey Rose. The real Audrey Rose had perished in a horrific, fiery car accident alongside Hoover's wife mere moments before Ivy was born. As Ivy begins suffering from severe, violent nightmares and terrors that mirror the agonizing death of Audrey Rose, the Templetons are forced to confront the possibility that Hoover's claims might actually be true. The tension escalates, ultimately leading into a dramatic courtroom battle to decide the fate and spiritual identity of the young girl.
