Brief Description  The Thing With Two Heads (1972) is an American science fiction comedy film directed by Lee Frost. Produced by American International Pictures, it is a prominent cult classic of the 1970s blaxploitation-horror subgenre. The film's famous tagline summarizes its premise: "They transplanted a white bigot's head onto a soul brother's body!"

Plot:
Dr. Maxwell Kirshner is a brilliant, immensely wealthy, and intensely racist transplant surgeon. He is dying from an inoperable heart condition and severe arthritis. To prolong his life, Kirshner develops a groundbreaking surgical technique to transplant his head onto a healthy human body. He first successfully tests the method by grafting a second head onto a gorilla. Kirshner's health deteriorates much faster than expected. His medical team is forced to use the only available donor body: Jack Moss, a muscular Black man on death row for a crime he swears he did not commit. Moss volunteered for the experiment solely to buy time to prove his innocence. Doctors graft Kirshner's head onto Moss's shoulder, resulting in a single body operating with two highly combative heads.

Upon waking up, Kirshner is horrified to find his head attached to a Black man. Meanwhile, Moss is equally appalled to have a bigoted, demanding white man attached to his neck. Kirshner plans to use a special drug to slowly suppress Moss's brain function until Moss's head can be safely amputated, leaving Kirshner in permanent, sole control of the body. Realizing the threat, Moss overpowers the hospital staff and escapes into the streets. He takes Dr. Fred Williams—a Black doctor whom Kirshner had hired unwittingly—hostage to help him clear his name.

The movie shifts into a comedic, action-packed road movie. Moss steals a dirt bike, triggering an extended, chaotic police chase involving dozens of squad cars through rural California landscapes. With the help of Dr. Williams and Moss's girlfriend, Lila, they successfully track down the real murderer, proving Moss's innocence. Dr. Williams then performs a final, secret surgery: he amputates Kirshner's head and attaches it to a life-support machine. Moss is freed to live his life, while Kirshner is left as a disembodied head, endlessly complaining.
