Brief Description  Stanley (1972) is an American eco-horror B-movie directed and produced by B-movie icon William GrefĂ©. Capitalizing on the "nature-runs-amok" craze sparked by the 1971 film Willard, the movie replaces trained rats with deadly, venomous rattlesnakes. It was shot entirely on location in the South Florida Everglades and Ivan Tors Studios in Miami.

Plot:
The story follows Tim Ochopee (Chris Robinson), a half-Seminole Indian and traumatized Vietnam War veteran. Returning home to find his father has been murdered, Tim rejects human society entirely. He retreats to a secluded shack in the Everglades, where he develops a deeply symbiotic, telepathic-like bond with a collection of rattlesnakes. His absolute favorite is a massive, fiercely loyal rattlesnake named Stanley. Tim protects the reptiles, only occasionally supplying venom to a local doctor for medical serums. His isolation is shattered by Richard Thomkins (Alex Rocco), a ruthless fashion developer and snakeskin dealer. Thomkins employs the same cruel poachers who lynched Tim's father, attempting to force Tim into harvesting his beloved swamp snakes to manufacture luxury leather goods. Tim's fragile mental state snaps completely after discovering that a local exotic dancer has mutated her act to bite the heads off live snakes.

Armed with an army of venomous vipers, Tim begins a targeted campaign of bloody retribution against poachers, developers, and anyone who threatens his cold-blooded family. As Tim's sanity unravels, he mimics a twisted, biblical delusion. He kills Thomkins by filling his luxury swimming pool with venomous snakes and subsequently kidnaps Thomkins' daughter, Susie (Susan Carroll), intending for her to be the "Eve" to his swamp "Eden". The movie culminates in explosive chaos when Susie tells Tim he is insane. When a furious Tim orders his snakes to execute her, the reptiles turn on him instead, refusing to strike. Enraged, Tim begins abusing the snakes, prompting his beloved companion, Stanley, to bite him directly in the face. A lantern shatters, engulfing the cabin in flames. Susie escapes safely while a horribly burned Tim stumbles out into the swamp to die.
