Brief Description  The Day Time Ended (1980) is a sci-fi cult classic directed by John "Bud" Cardos that follows an extended family as they endure a night of inter-dimensional and extraterrestrial terror at their remote desert home. The movie was produced by B-movie icon Charles Band and is well-regarded by cult cinema fans for its creative use of practical special effects and stop-motion animation. It was also featured in Season 12 of Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Plot:
The Williams family moves into a futuristic, solar-powered ranch house in the middle of the California desert. Simultaneously, a rare trinary supernova explodes roughly 200 light-years from Earth. The cosmic event releases intense radiation and opens a rift in the fabric of space and time. As linear time completely breaks down, the family's "dream home" turns into a surreal nightmare. Their night is upended by a series of bizarre and terrifying phenomena, including: Alien Encounters: Friendly, miniature, glowing aliens and a floating pyramid device appear to the young granddaughter, Jenny. Interdimensional Warfare: Hostile, laser-shooting miniature spaceships swarm the house. Prehistoric Monsters: Two massive, reptilian dinosaur-like creatures materialize in the backyard and fight a bloody battle to the death. As the house is pulled into an energy vortex, the family members are separated in the desert. Ultimately, they are reunited and transported into a peaceful, highly advanced future, where they look over a ridge to see a gleaming, glass-encased futuristic city waiting for them.
