Brief Description  Zombie (originally released in Italy as Zombi 2) is a 1979 Italian zombie horror film directed by horror icon Lucio Fulci. Although marketed internationally as an unofficial sequel to George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead (which was released in Italy as Zombi), the plot is completely unrelated and serves as a return to traditional voodoo-based zombie lore.

Plot:
The story begins when an abandoned yacht drifts into New York Harbor. When harbor patrol officers board the vessel to investigate, they are attacked by a lumbering, flesh-eating ghoul. Anne Bowles (Tisa Farrow), the daughter of the boat's missing owner, teams up with an investigative journalist named Peter West (Ian McCulloch) to find out what happened to her father. Their search leads them to Matul Island, a remote, tropical Caribbean island. Upon arrival, they meet Dr. David Menard (Richard Johnson), a scientist desperately trying to find a medical cure for a terrifying plague. The island's dead—including long-buried, centuries-old Spanish conquistadors—are rising from their graves to slaughter and devour the living. The remaining survivors must make a desperate, bloody stand to escape the island, only to discover that the apocalypse has already reached the mainland.
