Brief Description  Alien (1979) is a genre-defining science fiction horror film directed by Ridley Scott that follows the crew of a commercial space tug who are stalked and brutally killed by a deadly, parasitic extraterrestrial creature. Widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential films of all time, it subverted typical space-adventure tropes by focusing on blue-collar workers trapped in a dark, claustrophobic industrial setting.

Plot:
While returning to Earth, the commercial mining ship Nostromo is awakened from hypersleep by the ship’s computer, "Mother," to investigate a mysterious distress signal originating from the uncharted planetoid LV-426. A three-person team explores a derelict alien spacecraft on the planet, discovering a massive chamber filled with thousands of organic eggs. When crew member Kane inspects an egg, a small creature (a "Facehugger") bursts out and attaches itself to his face, plunging him into a coma. Against the strict quarantine orders of warrant officer Ellen Ripley, the crew brings the unconscious Kane back on board. The Facehugger eventually dies and detaches, and Kane seemingly recovers. However, during a final meal before returning to hypersleep, a small alien creature violently bursts from Kane's chest, killing him instantly. The creature escapes into the depths of the ship, growing rapidly into a massive, biomechanical apex predator (the Xenomorph) that begins hunting down the crew members one by one.
