Brief Description
Halloween (1978) is an independent American slasher film directed, scored, and co-written by John Carpenter. Widely regarded as one of the most influential horror films of all time, it effectively popularized the modern slasher genre and launched a massive multi-decade franchise
Plot:
The story begins on a cold Halloween night in 1963 in the fictional suburban town of Haddonfield, Illinois. Six-year-old Michael Myers brutally murders his teenage sister, Judith, with a kitchen knife. He is subsequently locked away for 15 years in a sanitarium under the care of child psychiatrist Dr. Sam Loomis. On October 30, 1978, a 21-year-old Michael escapes during a hospital transfer, steals a car, and returns to his quiet hometown. Donning a blank, pale mask, he begins stalking a high school student named Laurie Strode and her friends as they prepare to babysit on Halloween night. As Michael leaves a trail of bodies across the neighborhood, Dr. Loomis desperately races against time to track him down and halt the suburban massacre.
