Brief Description  The Mighty Peking Man (originally released in the US as Goliathon) is a 1977 Hong Kong monster movie directed by Ho Meng-hua and produced by the legendary Shaw Brothers Studio. It was intentionally created as a campy, action-packed "mockbuster" cash-in to capitalize on the massive success of Hollywood's 1976 King Kong remake.

Plot:
The story follows a group of greedy Hong Kong businessmen who catch wind of a legendary, ten-story-tall giant ape named Utam living deep in the Himalayas. They fund an expedition led by a broken-hearted adventurer named Johnny (Danny Lee). While traversing dangerous wilderness, Johnny discovers the giant beast, alongside a beautiful, bikini-clad "jungle goddess" named Samantha (Evelyne Kraft), who was orphaned in a plane crash and raised by the ape. Johnny and Samantha fall in love, and he convinces her to bring Utam back to civilization. However, once they arrive in Hong Kong, a corrupt promoter exploits the creature for profit. When Samantha is mistreated, Utam breaks free, triggering a full-scale, destructive rampage across the city. In pure King Kong fashion, the beast climbs the Connaught Centre (now Jardine House), which was Hong Kong's tallest building at the time, leading to a tragic, explosive showdown with the military. The special effects and creature design were handled by Japanese Tokusatsu experts, including Keizo Murase (who worked on the Godzilla franchise). The chiseled, unique look of the Peking Man distinguishes it from standard gorilla suits.
