Brief Description  Released in 1966 and directed by William Grefé, Death Curse of Tartu is a low-budget Florida horror film. It follows an archaeology professor, his wife, and a group of students in the Everglades who accidentally awaken Tartu, a vengeful 400-year-old Native American witch doctor, by partying on his sacred burial ground. Tartu transforms into swamp animals to kill the trespassers one by one.

Plot:
The story centers around four archaeology students and their professor, Ed Tison, who venture into the Florida Everglades to locate the 400-year-old burial mound of an ancient witch doctor named Tartu. Centuries ago, Tartu decreed a curse: anyone who defiled his resting place would face brutal execution by his resurrected spirit. Ignoring local legends, the energetic youths decide to set up camp and hold a dance party directly on top of the sacred burial grounds.

Awakened by the noise and disrespect, Tartu rises from his tomb. Instead of appearing strictly as a traditional mummy, he utilizes magical shapeshifting powers to transform into various apex predators native to the Everglades, hunting down and killing the intruders one by one. The surviving members must quickly race against time to uncover Tartu's main burial vault and destroy his physical corpse before they are completely wiped out.
