Brief Description  Curse of the Swamp Creature is a low-budget 1966 (often released in 1968 for TV) horror-sci-fi film directed by Larry Buchanan. It follows oil surveyors in the swamp who encounter a mad doctor trying to reverse human evolution into alligator ancestors, serving as a loose remake of AIP's Voodoo Woman.

Plot:
The story follows a team of oil surveyors, led by geologist Barry Rogers, who venture deep into the rural swamplands of Texas. While searching for oil, they stumble upon the isolated laboratory of Dr. Simond Trent, a reclusive and ruthless mad scientist. Dr. Trent has been conducting horrific experiments on local inhabitants in a mad attempt to reverse the course of human evolution. He disposes of his failed experimental subjects by feeding them to alligators kept in his covered, suburban-style swimming pool. When the oil drilling party crosses his path, Trent decides to take his ultimate step: kidnapping the duplicitous female leader of the expedition and instantaneously transforming her into a grotesque, amphibious "Fish Man" to enact his revenge on the world. Despite being prominently featured on the movie's promotional posters as an "underwater terror," the titular monster only appears during the final five minutes of the film. The creature costume is famously cheap, utilizing a bald head, Spock-like ears, and prominent ping-pong balls with slits drawn on them for eyes. No scenes actually take place underwater.
