Brief Description
Wild, Wild Planet (1965) is a campy Italian sci-fi adventure directed by Antonio Margheriti. It follows Commander Mike Halstead (Tony Russel) as he tracks down a mad scientist, Dr. Nurmi (Massimo Serato), who is shrinking Earth's leaders and mutating humans on the planet Delphos to build a master race.
Plot:
The story takes place in the 21st century where the United Democracies Space Command polices the solar system. Commander Mike Halstead (Tony Russel) is tasked with investigating a rash of mysterious disappearances on Earth involving top scientists, world leaders, and elite athletes. The kidnappings are orchestrated by the brilliant but deranged geneticist Dr. Nurmi (Massimo Serato). Operating from his advanced bio-laboratory on the planetoid Delphos, Nurmi is conducting illegal eugenics experiments. Nurmi’s minions—consisting of attractive, leather-clad women and bald, four-armed mutants—abduct their victims by shrinking them down to doll size and carrying them away in ordinary suitcases. Dr. Nurmi kidnaps Halstead's girlfriend, Lieutenant Connie Gomez (Lisa Gastoni). Nurmi intends to use surgery to physically fuse his own body together with Connie's to create a singular, genetically "perfect" hermaphroditic super-being. Commander Halstead leads a rogue rescue mission to Delphos to stop the procedure, fight the mutants, and save Connie.
