Brief Description
The Night Caller (1965), also known as Night Caller from Outer Space or Blood Beast from Outer Space, is a British science fiction-horror film directed by John Gilling and starring John Saxon, Maurice Denham, and Patricia Haines. It follows scientists tracking a mysterious, cold metallic sphere that crash-lands near London, unleashing an alien from Ganymede that begins abducting young women via modeling advertisements to save its dying species.
Plot:
Scientists at a radar facility, including Dr. Morley and his American colleague Dr. Jack Costain, track a strange object heading toward Earth. They find a small, glowing silicon sphere in the countryside and bring it to their lab. The sphere acts as an alien gateway or receiver. A creature emerges when people are alone. Dr. Morley is killed while trying to communicate with the entity, and the creature escapes into the city. The story shifts into a police procedural. Detective Superintendent Hartley teams up with the scientists because dozens of young women are vanishing. The team discovers that the missing women all answered a modeling advertisement in a magazine called Bikini World. Secretary Ann Barlow poses as bait by answering the ad herself to catch the culprit. The alien, named Medra, reveals he comes from Jupiter's moon, Ganymede. His people suffered a nuclear disaster and face extinction. They need human females to interbreed and restart their population. After the final confrontation, the alien departs with the gathered women.
