Brief Description
Cave of the Living Dead (1965), also known as Night of the Vampires or Der Fluch der grünen Augen, is a West German-Yugoslav gothic horror film about an Interpol detective who investigates mysterious murders tied to a remote castle and underground vampire caves.
Plot:
Young women in a superstitious German village vanish or turn up dead with mysterious neck wounds. Power outages consistently precede each gruesome local attack. Interpol Inspector Frank Doren (Adrian Hoven) arrives to investigate the string of homicides. Suspicion falls on a reclusive, sinister professor, von Adelsberg (Wolfgang Preiss), who lives in a local castle with his loyal servant John (John Kitzmiller) and assistant Maria/Karin. A local village witch and the town doctor get pulled into the orbit of the investigation as Doren tracks the true evil to a hidden cave system beneath the castle. Doren visits a local village witch who guides him into the deep, dark caves beneath the castle to fight a nest of vampires.
