Plot:
A penniless Baron Frankenstein and his young assistant Hans arrive at his ransacked family property. Local authorities, led by the burgomaster and the chief of police, force them out of town. Seeking shelter with the help of a mute beggar girl, the Baron finds his previous creation perfectly preserved and frozen in a nearby mountain cave. Frankenstein brings the body back to his laboratory and revives it, but the creature's higher brain functions remain dead. He enlists a corrupt local mesmerist named Zoltan to use hypnosis to repair and reactivate the mind.

Zoltan gains hypnotic control over the monster, using it to steal gold and exact cruel vengeance against the town burgomaster and police, while framing the Baron for the crimes. The monster eventually turns on Zoltan and kills him. Seeking alcohol in the lab, the creature drinks liquor mixed with chloroform. In a drunken rage, the creature starts a massive fire that consumes the laboratory. Both the Baron and his monster perish in the explosive blaze, while Hans and the mute girl escape.
