Brief Description  Werewolf in a Girls’ Dormitory (originally titled Lycanthropus) is a 1961 Italian-Austrian horror-mystery film directed by Paolo Heusch and released in the U.S. in June 1963 with a catchy promotional theme song. It functions less as a monster feature and more as a traditional giallo whodunit set inside a remote reform school for troubled teenage girls.

Plot:
The story is set in a remote reformatory for troubled young women rather than a traditional dormitory. The institution is shaken when a student named Mary Smith is brutally attacked and killed in the woods by a savage, fanged creature. Shortly before her murder, Mary had been meeting with someone to end a blackmail scheme. Following the tragedy, a mysterious and troubled medical doctor named Julian Olcott arrives to take a job as a science teacher. As more grisly attacks occur, suspicion spreads among the staff—including the sinister caretaker Walter and the sketchy administrator Sir Alfred Whiteman—and the local townspeople who set traps in the woods.

A curious student named Priscilla takes it upon herself to investigate Mary's death, uncovering a web of blackmail, dark secrets, and mad science. Unlike a standard monster feature, the film plays out more like a slow-paced whodunit or proto-giallo detective story, where the identity of the lupine killer is tied up in psychological and scientific twists. The Opening Song: The US release added a catchy, out-of-place rock-and-roll theme song called "The Ghoul in School" to the opening credits.
