Brief Description
They Saved Hitler’s Brain is a low-budget sci-fi thriller originally produced and released theatrically in 1963 as The Madmen of Mandoras. It was later re-edited, padded with 20 minutes of new student-shot footage, and retitled for television syndication in 1968. The plot follows a group of fugitive Nazi war criminals hiding in a fictional Latin American/Caribbean island nation who keep Adolf Hitler’s living, disembodied brain in a bell jar/container to plan a global resurgence.
Plot:
Professor John Coleman invents an antidote to a powerful nerve gas known as "G Gas". Leftover Nazi war criminals kidnap him and take him to the fictional Caribbean island nation of Mandoras. The professor's daughter Kathy and her husband Phil travel to Mandoras to track him down. They uncover a hidden network of Nazi fanatics preparing to unleash the gas. The group's ultimate leader is the preserved, living head of Adolf Hitler, kept in a specialized glass container and wheeled around or placed before a swastika. With help from local authorities and resistance fighters, the heroes easily thwart the plot, destroying the base and melting the wax-like replica of Hitler's head in an explosion.
