Brief Description  Children of the Damned (1963) is a British black-and-white sci-fi horror film and a thematic sequel to Village of the Damned (1960). Directed by Anton M. Leader, the 89-minute film follows a UNESCO global study that discovers six super-intelligent children from different nations born via virgin pregnancies, who gather in a London church and trigger a lethal military standoff.

Plot:
A global UNESCO/UN study identifies six gifted children who display identical, extraordinary genius levels, telepathic communication, and acute psychic and telekinetic powers. Investigators learn that none of the children have fathers, with their mothers claiming virgin births. Brought together in London for observation by psychologist Dr. Tom Llewellyn (played by Ian Hendry) and geneticist David Neville (played by Alan Badel), the children break out of their respective embassies and barricade themselves inside an abandoned church in Southwark.

As governments and military forces panic over the potential threat of the youths, the children construct a sonic defense device. Scientists realize the children may not be alien invaders, but rather an advanced stage of human evolution. A tragic misunderstanding triggered by a simple human tool destroys the church and kills the children before a peaceful resolution can take hold. Themes: Nuclear-age Cold War paranoia, human prejudice, government overreach, and the ethical dilemmas of reacting to accelerated evolution.
