Brief Description  The Flesh Eaters is a 1962 low-budget black-and-white horror B-movie directed by Jack Curtis and written by Arnold Drake. It follows a charter pilot, an alcoholic movie star, and her assistant who crash-land on a secluded island occupied by a deranged scientist breeding lethal, flesh-eating marine organisms.

Plot:
The story follows a down-on-his-luck charter pilot, Grant Murdoch (Byron Sanders), who is hired by a wealthy, alcoholic movie star, Laura Winters (Rita Morley), and her personal assistant, Jan Letterman (Barbara Wilkin), to fly them to Provincetown, Massachusetts. A severe storm and sudden engine failure force Murdoch to make an emergency landing on a remote, uncharted island in the Long Island Sound. On the island, they encounter Professor Peter Bartell (Martin Kosleck), a sinister marine biologist living in isolation. Bartell is a former U.S. government agent who used stolen Nazi research to cultivate a deadly, bioluminescent marine microbe. His goal is to weaponize these organisms to sell as biological weapons.

The group quickly discovers the island's waters are infested with these tiny, glowing creatures. They attack and instantly dissolve any flesh they touch, leaving bones picked completely clean. They are joined by Omar (Ray Tudor), an eccentric, bean-eating beatnik who shipwrecks on the island via a small raft. Bartell secretly sabotages Murdoch's seaplane to keep the group trapped as human test subjects. He slips a dose of the microbes into Omar's drink, causing the creatures to horrifically chew their way out of the beatnik's stomach from the inside out. When Laura discovers Bartell's sinister true nature, he stabs and shoots her.

Bartell tries to control and destroy the micro-organisms using a high-voltage electrical battery system. Instead of killing them, the electrical shocks cause the microscopic organisms to merge into a singular, giant, gelatinous monster with tentacles. Before his death, Bartell notes that the creatures devour everything except blood—specifically because they have a fatal, toxic reaction to human hemoglobin. After Bartell is thrown to the monster and consumed, Murdoch uses a massive syringe filled with Laura's blood to inject the creature's eye, successfully destroying it. Murdoch and Jan, now romantically linked, escape the island together.
