Brief Description  The Mummy’s Shroud (1967) is a British horror film produced by Hammer Film Productions. Directed by John Gilling, it marks the third installment in Hammer's four-part Mummy cycle and is historically notable as the final Hammer horror production filmed at the iconic Bray Studios before operations moved to Elstree. It is also the last film in Hammer’s series to feature a traditional, bandage-wrapped mummy antagonist.

Plot:
The Prologue (2000 B.C.): The film opens with an uncredited narration (by British actor Tim Turner) detailing a violent coup in ancient Egypt. The Pharaoh Men-Ta is overthrown and slaughtered by his traitorous brother, Amen-Ta. Amidst the chaos, a fiercely loyal slave named Prem escapes into the desert with the Pharaoh’s young son and heir, Prince Kah-to-Bey. The harsh desert claiming the lives of their escort, the young prince eventually collapses from exhaustion and dies. Heartbroken, Prem wraps the boy’s body in a sacred, mystical shroud covered in hieroglyphs, buries him in a hidden tomb, and stays by his side until he dies as well.

The Discovery (1920): Four thousand years later, a British archaeological team led by the dedicated Sir Basil Walden and funded by the wealthy, arrogant, and self-aggrandizing Stanley Preston, wanders lost in the Egyptian desert. Accompanied by Preston’s son Paul and a linguist named Claire—who possesses psychic "feelings" of dread—the group successfully unearths the forgotten tomb of Kah-to-Bey.Just as they make the discovery, Sir Basil is bitten by a venomous snake. Simultaneously, Stanley Preston arrives with a relief party. Despite the frantic warnings of a mysterious local guardian, Hasmid Ali, who predicts doom for anyone who desecrates the site, the tomb is breached. The party claims the well-preserved mummy of Prem (the protective slave) and the sacred shroud of the child prince, transferring them to a museum in Cairo to be put on public display. Preston immediately takes full credit for the find in the press, marginalizing Sir Basil's efforts.

The Curse Unleashed: Driven insane by the snake venom and Preston's betrayal, Sir Basil is committed to a local asylum, but he manages to escape. Meanwhile, Hasmid Ali seeks his own revenge for the desecration. Using the sacred hieroglyphs woven directly into the mummy's shroud, Hasmid reads the ancient incantations aloud. The words restore the mummy of Prem to life. Stripped of mercy, the hulking, bandage-wrapped entity becomes an unstoppable executioner tasked with violently slaughtering every member of the expedition. Sir Basil Walden is the first to fall, brutally bludgeoned to death by the resurrected creature. Harry Newton, another expedition member, is cast out of a high window. Stanley Preston, trying desperately to preserve his reputation and life, attempts to flee but is cornered and crushed to death by the monster.

The Climax: With only Paul Preston and Claire left alive, they realize that conventional weapons cannot halt the mummy's rampage. Trapped inside the Cairo museum, Claire uses her linguistic skills to translate the final lines of the sacred shroud. Just as the mummy corners them, she speaks the exact ancient words aloud. The spell holding the creature together shatters, and Prem violently decomposes on the spot, dissolving into a harmless pile of ancient dust and bone.
