Brief Description  I Married a Monster from Outer Space (1958) is a classic American black-and-white science fiction horror film released by Paramount Pictures. Directed and produced by Gene Fowler Jr., it stars Tom Tryon and Gloria Talbott. Despite its sensational B-movie title, the film is highly regarded by critics as an intelligent, atmospheric, and tense psychological thriller that uses alien invasion as a metaphor for marital alienation and 1950s social anxieties.

Plot:
On his way home from a bachelor party, groom-to-be Bill Farrell (Tom Tryon) stops his car after seeing a body in the road. He is ambushed by an alien creature that absorbs his form and memories. Bill arrives late and visibly dazed to his wedding with Marge (Gloria Talbott). They marry, but during the honeymoon, Marge notices Bill behaves in a cold, completely emotionless manner. Over the next year, Marge grows increasingly desperate. Bill shows no genuine affection, fails to understand human emotions, and reacts with cold indifference when a new puppy bark at him (the puppy is later found strangled). One night, Marge follows Bill into the woods. She watches in horror as he leaves his human "shell" to board a hidden spaceship.

A flash of lightning reveals his true, hideous insectoid face. Marge learns that the aliens' home planet died, killing all their females. They have come to Earth to possess human men and breed with Earth women to save their species. Marge tries to warn the local authorities, but finds the police chief and most of the town's men have already been replaced by aliens. Marge contacts a local doctor who validates her claims. They form a posse of remaining, real human men to attack the spaceship. The real human men are found kept alive in pods hooked up to tubes. The townspeople disconnect the machinery, destroying the alien invaders and rescuing the real Bill just in time.
