Brief Description  The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958) is a landmark American fantasy adventure film directed by Nathan Juran, produced by Charles H. Schneer, and featuring iconic special effects by visual effects master Ray Harryhausen. Celebrated as the first film to showcase Harryhausen's full-color, widescreen stop-motion process called Dynamation, it was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry in 2008 for its cultural and aesthetic significance.

Plot:
Legendary sailor Captain Sinbad (Kerwin Mathews) is heading to Baghdad with his fiancé, Princess Parisa (Kathryn Grant), to secure peace between their kingdoms. Starving, they stop at the uncharted island of Colossa. There, they rescue the magician Sokurah (Torin Thatcher) from a monstrous, man-eating Cyclops. During the escape, Sokurah summons a boy genie from a magic lamp to create a barrier, but the lamp is left behind on the beach. Sokurah pleads for a ship to reclaim his lamp, but the Caliph of Baghdad and Sinbad refuse. To force Sinbad's hand, the vengeful sorcerer sneaks into Princess Parisa's bedchamber and uses magic to shrink her to the size of a thumb. Sokurah claims the only cure requires a potion made from the eggshell of a giant Roc, a bird nesting only on Colossa.

Desperate to save Parisa, Sinbad recruits a dangerous crew from the prisons of Baghdad. On the island, the crew mutinies but is subdued when they hear the terrifying cries of the island's monsters. Sinbad protects the tiny Parisa by keeping her in a small, cushioned box. While looking for the egg, Sinbad's crew is captured by a Cyclops and caged to be eaten. Sinbad blinds the beast with a burning log and lures it off a cliff to its death. Later, they locate the giant two-headed Roc bird and harvest a piece of its eggshell. Tiny Parisa climbs inside the magic lamp, meets Baron, the child genie (Richard Eyer), and learns the secret incantation to summon him.

Sokurah restores the princess but betrays Sinbad, taking Parisa hostage in his underground fortress. Inside, he animates a human skeleton to fight Sinbad in a famous sword duel. Sinbad wins the duel, kills Sokurah's snake-woman creation, and frees the genie, which turns Baron into a real human boy. As they flee, Sokurah unleashes a fire-breathing dragon. A second Cyclops attacks, and the dragon kills it in a massive monster battle. Sinbad uses a giant crossbow to kill the dragon, which collapses and crushes the evil magician. Sinbad, Parisa, and the newly human boy sail away safely together. Filmed primarily in Spain, including the Alhambra Palace in Granada and the Arta Caves in Mallorca.
